Very soon after its creation, ANAK set up a system of medical check-ups for the children it sponsors: good health is essential for successful schooling!
Until recently, each site coordinator would take all the children together for a complete check-up twice a year. This procedure has nevertheless proved to be difficult: too many children at the same time makes it difficult to keep them organized; and limited time gives each child limited contact with the doctors and potential inconvenience for other patients as they await their turn.
After having discussed this problem with the site coordinators at seminars and with the office in France, it was decided this procedure should change.
From now on, each village coordinator will take only three to five children at a time. Of course, it means more work for the coordinators, however, this way they will be able to monitor each check-up more closely and alert the office more quickly in the event of a problem.
A schedule has been drawn up based on the number of children at each center so that each child can continue to have two visits a year.
